It wasn't just another rodeo, it was the 2008 National
High School Rodeo Finals in Farmington,
NM. A ninth place finish in
the nation a year prior wasn't good enough and seventeen-year-old Corbin
was riding to brin the national champion bull riding title back to his
hometown of Jonesville, LA. Having received a score on his first bull, a
second ride would have surely placed him in a position to win but the
bull, M33, changed this talented, young cowboy's plans. After six seconds
into the ride, the cowboy was thrown and the bull's back leg caught
Corbin's head breaking his neck. We were given little hope that Corbin
would ever walk again.
The entire story of Corbin's near fatal injury is
documented in the book entitled Spurs, Chaps, and Faith: The Corbin
Carpenter Story and may be purched via information from this
website. Purchasing information is underneath the heading "The
Book".
